Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is warning local priority service customers concerning severe weather conditions as a result of Storm Eunice. They are advising customers to have by their side: torches, warm clothes and blankets. They should also ensure friends and family are on hand to help if needed. SSEN continue: “If you do have a power cut, it’s possible it may take us longer than usual to get your power back on due to the conditions outside.” Local power cuts can be tracked online at powertrack.ssen.co.uk or you can call Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks on 105, which is free from all numbers.
The RAC say that Storm Eunice is making road conditions hazardous, so they strongly urge drivers not to risk it and instead consider delaying their journeys until the storm passes. For anyone who has to set out, they recommend sticking to major roads and avoiding exposed and coastal routes. It’s also vital to reduce speeds and to take extra care when passing high-sided vehicles so as not to get buffeted off.
