The Giving Tree will be back in the reception area of the Market Street Offices at West Berkshire Council, in Newbury, from the 3 December.
The tree will be decorated with labels which have the gender and age of a child on them who has experienced domestic abuse in their life. There will also be labels for women affected by domestic abuse, living both in refuges and in the community.
To take part, pick a label and choose your corresponding gift. You may like to treat a woman to a trip to the cinema, a new haircut or toiletries. Local businesses are also welcome to donate a voucher. Please return your new and unused gift unwrapped, with the label attached, by Friday 14 December. These can be handed in at the reception desk in the Market Street Offices.
West Berkshire Council’s Executive Member for Community Resilience and Partnerships, Marcus Franks, said: ‘Last year’s Giving Tree was a great success. The generosity of local people meant that we could ensure everyone received a gift. We are continuing to work with those families affected by domestic abuse to help them live happy and safe lives – your donations, big or small, makes a huge difference.”
