Greenham Trust drew its second Golden Ticket at the D-Day 75 Celebration event which took place at the 101 Outdoor Arts Centre on 4 and 5 June 2019.
The Golden Ticket is a new initiative launched by Greenham Trust in 2019 where one winner will be drawn at random at each of their community events. The winner can choose to allocate a total of £5,000 funding from Greenham Trust to one local charitable project or split the total across a number of charitable projects on The Good Exchange.
The lucky winner was Neil Batts from Reading who decided to award £1000 each to five different projects on www.thegoodexchange.com .
The first project to receive £1000 was Brookfields School Association who are creating a cycle track around the perimeter of their playing field to make cycling and general exercise available for all their pupils including those with mobility issues.
The Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice also received £1000 towards the cost of employing a dedicated family social care worker to support patients and families affected by an end of life diagnosis.
The next project to receive funding was West Berkshire Community Hospital League of Friends for their portable liver scanner.
The fourth project was the Newbury Soup Kitchen who work with vulnerable clients helping them to improve their situation and future.
Finally, Time to Talk West Berkshire will receive £1000 towards their outreach service in Thatcham who provide counselling for young people aged 11 to 25.

The next Golden Ticket will be awarded at Step Up 4 Good 2019 – Greenham Trust’s 10K and family fun runs taking place at Newbury Racecourse on 13 October.
