West Berkshire Council have announced their proposed budget for 2022-2023, which will mean a 4% council tax rise for residents.
75% of the increase is for Adult Social Care covering care homes for seniors, as well as support for young adults. The council points to inflationary pressures as being behind this increase.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the budget. A statement from the council says:
We want to deliver value for money services and the infrastructure our district needs. We do this by setting an annual budget which includes revenue to fund services such as social care, and a capital budget which will pay for long term projects, such as new school buildings and maintaining our roads.
